Dawn S. writes: Hello,
I would like to tell you about a great shop in Mittagong. It is basically curtain and soft furnishing fabrics, but there is a great range and the staff are really helpful. They also make curtains, supply rods and tracks and also sell ready-made curtains.
I found that they were really helpful and accommodated all my reqests, beyond the 'call of duty'. They will also take orders to make specific things, if you don't want to do the hard work, like cushions, throws, table clothes etc.
Worth the drive to the Southern Highlands, enjoy a coffee and the atmosphere.
The name of the shop: Fox Fabrics (now under new management).
Address: 8 Bowral Road, Mittagong
Phone: 47 822911
Thankyou,
Dawn S

And unless I was visiting friends in Hornsby, I'd never have enjoyed shopping at Tina's Fabrics Shop 3096 (ground floor), at the Hornsby Westfield Shopping Centre Phone: 61-2-94761500. It's very close to the train station, and I've always found something I want whenever I've gone there.
There's a high end bridal/after five shop Saigon Fabrics, at 78 Erskine street, Sydney ( alos behind Wynyard Station)
The Sydney suburb of Burwood has Vicson Fabrics in the Burwood Plaza, 42 Railway parade. They have a great range of fold over elastics and ruffled elastic ( for necklines). Not a huge range but very useful.
The Silk Shop has moved to the 9th Floor Dymocks Building, 428 George Street, Sydney.

She stocks very broovy Euro patterns and fabrics, as well as quality Aussie knits. Crafty Mamas is THE place for gorgeous patterns and seasonal fabric from Europe, as well assorted sewing and craft supplies.
Jan Margarson has just let me know about her new on-line fabric store, Aglais, which sells Japanese fabric and accessories for lovers of natural fibres and beautiful prints. Aglais was created by a small group of friends who share her passion for products that are unique, imaginative and inspirational and that are not part of the mass production industry.
