There is an incredible family run business down in South Tweed Heads called Fantazia Fabricland, (I believe the address is 5 Machinery Drive, South Tweed Heads 2486) - just below the border of Qld. It started out as a by weight remnants shop, and has turned into the most incredible shop which is now divided into 3 "sections" - patchwork (the most ridiculous arrangement of beautiful cotton fabrics and some upholstery bits), craft (with a wall full of ribbons, a wall of wool and everything else in between) and the "fabric" section which also includes the most ridiculous collection of buttons you will ever see! The owner is always buying mass amounts of materials, or clearance lines, so can sell much cheaper than some other places. It is a bit of a problem for the poor staff though, always trying to fit things in! They take busloads of women - and it truly needs to open its own coffee shop - you could literally spend all weekend there and still not see everything! I hope you take the chance to visit it - it really is worth it. Renee

Fabric Frenzy 2/24 Spencer Road Nerang Qld 4211 Ph07 5596 4133. They call themselves a discount fabric warehouse and they sell both retail and whoesale they sell furnishing fabrics as well as dress fabrics and have a good rang of lycra plus a lot haberdashery bits and pieces. The staff are very knowledgable, helpful and friendly (which in my experience is becoming rare in fabric shops). thanks for your site, I have found it very informative.
