Fiona writes : Hello. I love your site! Finding fabric shops is getting more and more difficult, and this is great, because it’s so handy to be able to find fabrics when on holidays. There’s a great store in Subiaco – Subiaco Fabric and Embroidery, in Home Base at Subiaco. Their address is 14/55 Salvado Road, Subiaco WA 6008, and their phone number is 9388 9860. They have good quality fabrics at reasonable prices. A nice selection of natural fibres, combined with evening fabrics.
Home Textiles at 7 Cobbler Place Mirrabooka, they are now on both sides of the river. The store all 2000 square metres of exquisite and unusual fabrics,makes it probably the largest fabric and curtaining store in Australia, a visit is recomended. The phone No. 93442300 and is conveniently situated near Mirrabooka Square shopping centre.

It has a wide range of dress fabrics and more silks, many embroidered, and sari fabrics than I've seen in lincraft or Fabric Warehouse. The wide range of imported fabrics sets it apart from the textile traders and Spotlight stores down the road.

Wanneroo Markets has a material store (been around for years) also has a haby store with a big range of buttons badges laces and ribbons.
Best materials are at Fabric Warehouse, cheaper usually than Lincraft so I don't go there very often. Spotlight in WA sell some nice materials some not so nice. Hope this has given you some help. Hopefully a south of the river person can fill you in with details of their area.
